I am wondering how many of you run ethanol gasoline through your equipment. I try not to as I have heard many reports from various mechanics of ethanol drying out rubber components in engines, leading to cracking-which of course would lead to possible failure. I have not experienced this, but it makes me wonder if I shouldn't always run "ethanol free" gasoline in my equipment.

Here in parts of the East we don't have a choice particularly in the winter. The gasoline is oxygenated and they use alchohol to do it. I read one time that if you use alchohol in hoses from the beginning that it will not affect them. This seems to be true since my oldest machine is a 4 year old Stihl BR400 and it still has the original hoses on it.

Have run ethanol in all my gas equipment and vehicles for as long
as I care to remember. Never had a problem with it. Besides it helps the farmers not just the Arabs.
