Is this the B43 or P218 ?

Has anyone tried to adjust the governor ?

Well..... I had a blond moment, The governor on either the above Onans is not adjustable. Only the sensitivity and hi/low governed rpm's can be adjusted.

So, What you were told is most likely what will need to be done.

Here is the cam just to give you a idea;

Part numbers 2 and 9 are most likely the worn parts.

Here's what the specs should be;

The flywheel cover and flywheel must be removed then the charging system stator and timing cover, Then the governor can be worked on without removing the cam from the engine unless there is cam gear wear/damage.

so if i add some thicker oil would that help. i only use it for aerating and run it at real low rpm's anyway.

Not likely thicker oil will help already worn parts, Just use it as is but be ready to kill it if it over revs so the rods don't decide to install a window in the side.

We have had about 10 of the Kawasakis so far this year that #5 the plastic ball spacer wore out and they rev until they blow up... which is what happened to 4 of the ones we got in for repair (rods right thru). All the balls get wedged and they will rev wide open...
Not sure if the do the same thing or not... but thought it was worth mentioning
