Trouble starting edger and trimmer

hey all , purchased new edger and string trimmer , Kawasaki engines from Lesco.. Have had problems with starting each time . Have to choke them or hold throttle wide open. Mechanic from Lesco suggested removing spark arrestor and changing out the spark plug...... Did not help, anyone have any more ideas???? Also own 2 Kawi powered backpacks (one Maryamu one Lesco) never had aproblem with either

Eastview, If your trimmer and edger are kawasaki built, there will be a trigger lock on the side of the handle. Squeeze throttle open then push lock and let go. This will hold throttle open about 1/4 throttle. Then prime carb with bulb, then choke. It should start in one or two pulls. If you dont follow this sequence, they are a bear to start.
