how did you manage to get aerator off i really want one with my old blue bird de-thatcher it's such a time consuming process, mowing de-thatching, seeding, starter fert.

what did the lesco aerator set you back, mind me asking. what's the difference between the lesco aerator and a ryan aerator?
Clonts Landscaping
09-17-2009, 10:41 AM
The aerator was about 2800 out the door. I'm not sure the difference between the new Ryan aerators. I have a old Ryan that's not a split shaft but other than that they operate the same. That Lesco is actually a Classen just painted another color.

I'm not sure who the builder was. I actually purchased the house as a foreclosure a couple of years ago. Whoever had it before me trashed it so me and couple of friends fixed it up and I saved a few bucks.

I put the aerator on first so I wouldn't have to tie it down. I wasn't aerating yesterday just went to pick up the aerator fert and seed. I haven't done any aeration yet this year. We haven't had more than a sprinkle or two in over a month. Look at my yard in the background of the pics I posted. Nice and crispy.:cry::cry:

Looks like that may have been a grain body, but I could be wrong.
I like both your Ford and your Chevy. That's a cool looking dump, but you'd have a hard time pulling me out of the Powerstoke.

Thanks. I think someone used it for debris removal but not sure. Dont think it was a grain truck becuase it did not have a grain chute on the door.

i dont wanna steal the thread...but do u mind saying what model gravely? my 1336 leaks fluid from the gear shifter spout on the transmission. 180hrs and already had a bent trans pulley, multiple tranny belts, leaks, and electric pto problems (went thru fuses and blades wouldnt engage). its running and has been running like a champ ever since i fixed these minor problems tho. i find it to be one fast mower cuz of the large tires. alot faster than my exmark!
love your truck too by the way CLONTS...cant wait to get a dumper

The Gravely is a good mower but I really dont use anymore since I picked up my Wright. I think I'm gonna try and sell it or trade it a nice skid sprayer. That aerator was about $2800 but I ended up returning it. It never worked right. I took it back to JDL twice to have it fixed and it just got worse. So I got my money back. I ended up buying another Ryan Lawnaire and picked a LS RideOn this year.

I dont know the breakdown of acres per hour. I do know it's very productive, much easier than a walkbehind, and does a much better job than anything else I have ever used. I used to rent a LT Rich for 2-3 days a year to do all my larger yards and my HOA's and my LS will run circles around a LT.

i use the trimmer trap ST-2 for my stihl br600 blowers. you can use it with open and enclosed trailers. for enclosed, just put a rubber space between the trailer wall and the st-2 and you're good to go. secures it nicely

I mean, they do the same thing, same concept. LS gets around quicker and easier imo (that's why I'm selling my Classen). But the Classen is still a luxury sedan when compared to a walk behind aerator

Love your ford. is it a 6.0 Diesel? What model is your redmax blower? how do you like versus the br600?
Clonts Landscaping
02-12-2012, 07:59 PM
Yeah the ford is a 6.0. It's actually in the shop getting a long block put in it. I'm also having ARP head studs and a EGR delete added. I love the Redmax so far. It's a 8500. It is a good bit stronger than my 600. It's perfect for leaf cleanups. I bought from a guy on lawnsite about a month ago.
