Some pics from todays job, just grading around the house getting ready for topsoil and plants. removed all sorts of garbage. Nice little 38'' opening i had to get in on one side so i got the big bad s70 in there to cut and grade saved major time.

Thats a good size house and like always tight small yard. I enjoy those kinds of yards vs. the 4 acre lots you have to grade. I like the two machines bucket to bucket. Post up some more when you get some.

Looks like some hand work beside that walk way on the right side of the house where the tree roots are exposed. Keep the pictures rolling and keep up the good work. Not many anymore that take pride in their work it is good to see some still care.

Its times like this that makes you realize how important the little machines are :weightlifter:. No retaining wall going around the patio

How does that 70 do? Does it spin allot with those small tires or does it do pretty well? I always have enjoyed the smaller machines they are so much easier to work a job with instead of my back and a shovel.:weightlifter:

Atleast you can get a machine in the back yard even that small skid steer wouldn't get around most houses here. You would have to have a crane lift it over the house.

Wow they must be trying to get as many people living in a small area as possible. That sounds like a row of townhouses or something.

No its not the houses are close together its the lay of the land. The house can sit on a site where the property drops away on each side of the house where the grade it too steep to drive a machine along side.
Alot of places once the house is built there is no access to the front or the back yard with any size machine.
There has been house projects where a skid steer has been craned over the house to work on the front yard. Almost 99% of the landscaping is done by hand with wheel barrows etc. Got 30-40 yards of topsoil to move it is done by hand.

That reminds me of a job we did at a small town school 20 years ago. We dug an elevator shaft out in a court yard 16' down. We had to sling the Taki over a 3 story building with a crane. Then we used a stone bucket to remove the material. No real radios back then just guys on the rook using hand signals.

All that hardscape work and there is a concrete walk leading to the road? How come not plant the hill on the right side too instead of sod? Looks pretty sweet though. Nice job.
