Bermuda Stripes

[Tyler's Lawn Maintenance]

Well i finally took some pictures of my stripes using my 22" Craftsmen mower and my homemade striper attachment. This was taken at my grandparents house. The grass is a Hybrid Type of Bermuda. Let me know what you think and tips to enhance the stripes.

I have never cut bermuda. But I know that the hieght of the cut is key. Higher the cut the beter stripes. Also the mower makes a diffrence. I find that a steel deck does not stripe as well as an aluminum deck. THis is for 21 inch mowers. Look at my thread with the link in my sig. I use a toro commercial 21" mower with an aluminum deck.

yeah bermuda is more common here in sc than your fescues...i currently have no fescues in my 17 mowing accounts, so i cannot experiment. i also cannot experiment with steel or aluminum decks. This being said, i do currently experiment with mowing heights. i stripe using a piece of pvc pipe filled with gravel zip tied on the flap of my mower. hopefully i can get the sl lawn systems striper or the big league lawn striper before next mowing season. and hopefully i can experiment on a fescue lawn before long.
