so today was a crappy day, just as my z-mower turned 800 hours, one of the hydo pumps took a $hit on me, left me dead in the water wouldent move an inch, it also just so happins it was down a big a$$$ hill in someones backyard it was steep as $hit, which wasnt easy to get to. we had to remove a nice little bush, and a small rock driveway border thing to yank it up the hill and out. then all the way up their driveway.

Yeah, see at the beginning of the year i had everything looked at when i did the tune up and my buddy who owns the shop said everything was all set and should need to be done for another 1k hours. And it is really rare on walk behinds for the pumps to actually go. More prone on the riders, cant wait for that day on my brand new turf tiger, just shy of 100 hours now and i'm treatin' it like a baby!

My hydro pump started going at 10 hours, big manufacturers defect, they found metal shavings in the pump when they pulled it out, luckly I could feel it turning left less and got it to the shop before it was dead. I had go at my trailer full speed to get in. Thank god for warranty's.

yeah this gave me no warning, what so ever, and it went all at once.

You know that the hustler will probably have the same brand hydro pumps and wheel motors. 800hrs isnt too uncomon for hydro parts going out. We had an output bearing on a drive motor fail at 650 hrs Toro covered the parts on that one.

yeah, well im not too concerned with what they have, i just want a new mower, and i have a real good hustler dealer near me, and they have lifetime warrenty on any hydrolic leakes.

I have to say this is a little funny that my residential 17/42z with hydro gear pumps that has never had the fluid changed lasted longer that yours. I know that that little thing has over 1000 hrs on it. I a can still pull wheely's with it. lol!

On my lazer xs the right side hydro pump blew a hole in the casing at 375 hrs and then again at 575ish. Second time was 2 months out of warranty and i think its going again at 640. Cost me $950 two months ago.

Machines are machines. Stuff fails early from time to time no matter what brand. Exmark and Toro are the best ones out there. One of the exmarks i use has 1600 hours on original hydros. Just good ole machines.

lol they were cool about it, i had to remove a bush, like 6 of those solar lights, and a rock driveway border, just to get down there, and i still ran over a hosta and part of a mulch bed lol

I would rather of seen you try to pull that beast into your trailer!:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
I have had to do the same thing many times. Except I haul mine in the back of the truck. It takes 4 ratchet straps and about 20min. Its not fun:wall:wall:wall

Mine went on my 2007 lazer when it only had 140 hours. All the mowers have the same pumps for the most part and sometimes you just get a lemon
