I have an older Ex-mark Lazer Z with a 25 hp Kohler on it , The governor seems to have broken the other day and it over revved it. I can stabalize the engine speed which is ok I guess until it hits thicker grass and without the governor compensating and adding more throttle it slows way down, I see no movement from the governor? This is a Horizontal shaft motor so removing the oil cover isnt unbearabale but still a pain. Is the governor serviceable? or wht? What goes bad in it or how does it work?
