What do you use for fall weed control (as liquid app.)? We just bought a tank sprayer & will be doing some blanket weed control apps this fall. We have always used Momentum for spot spraying, but I am curious to know if there are better or lower cost alternatives to Momentum. Thanks

Oh yes there are definitely better options. We use Trimec 992 unless we have major outbreaks of hard weeds which few of our yards do. We have in our arsenal Speedzone, MSMA, Q4, Trimec 992, Dismiss. Typically we spray weeds like creeping charlie, Wild violets when we do our Winterizer round in November. Trimec is like a THIRD of the cost.

Chemicals for broadleaf control are cheap compared to the expense of making the application. They all work pretty well. You probably want something containing Dicamba and one that is an amine rather than ester formulation. Get to know what is in your typical lawn, what soils in your area are like, and how turf and weeds in your area respond.
Getting to know your new sprayer extremely well (calibration and troubleshooting) is the number one thing you can do to make your applications effective. Using a spreader sticker will ensure better results.

Foreplease is right. And be sure to use it maximum label strength, and calibrate your sprayer to get the full dosage.
For tough weeds--followup with Momentum using a backpack so you have two weed killer products on the weeds.
