Finally found another Texas Bragg trailer, just bigger. I filled up the 5x10 quickly and could only haul one mower at the time.

2005 Texax Bragg 7'x16', 24" Mesh Sides,2" coupler, Dual Brakes, with the optional stainless steel wrap around tiedowns in the bed.Pulls fantastic!!! Tires are like new but a couple of the floorboards need to be replaced. Got it for $1500.00

Still trying to get used to this coupler, any body else have a hard time getting it back and forth to latch. Im having to use a hammer when the ball is in it. But when the ball is out it moves freely.

Got the racks mounted up from my other trailer. Painted them black, I'll see how long that holds up.

Whats a rough estimate on replacing the entire floor?

Thanks Guys!!! Comments and Suggestions Welcome

If it's a bulldog hitch that you have and your not used to, its easiest to just kick it to close and open it. Thats what we do.

It has been a great season, my account have nearly doubled all with word of mouth advertising. Do professional work and the let the business come to you!!

Truck handles like it should .
I need to get a brake controller and something to raise the rear end while pulling, looked at airbags made by airlift company, or a set of add a leaf's

Looks good, I do the kicking trick too, but the part about it being tough, if you can see the ball through the little opening created when the hitch is in the open position you need to move your trailer. The ball should be as far to the driver side of the receiver as possible. Hope that was somewhat clear.

hitch trick works!!!, just put all new treated lumber in the floor. 2x8x16 on both outer side and 2x6x16's cover the rest of the floor.

Thinking about mounting the trimmer racks on the front of the trailer. Any pictures or input on this??

I would stay away from mounting them on the front...PITA having to hop over the tongue and fuss with all that crap there, easiest thing to do is leave them over the fender on the side so you have a place to rest/lay them down to refuel and work on them.

Where do you do most of your work? I feel like I should have seen you around by now but havent. -Tim

Nice truck, bet you get a laugh out of all the "You need a 1 ton dually diesel to tow a 5x10 trailer" threads going on around here.

What trim level did you buy to get those wheels? Are they aluminum?

i had a trailer hitch like that and all i did was cut it offand put a 2 5/16 coupler on it and called it a day. You shouldnt have to kick it and all that stuff to take off your trailer.

CampbellLawnCare

Ltz trim package, the interior also has a bunch of different features. I beleive you can upgrade to these wheels with a lower trim package now.

The coupler is welded on now, so your saying cut that off and then weld the new one on?

CampbellLawnCare
09-26-2009, 07:09 PM
also is one stronger than the other?

thu cutting edge

you would have to grind the welds off and then weld the new one on. i dont know about one being stronger but you put a 2 5/16 coupler on you wont regret it

Don't replace the hitch. A 2" is all you need for a trailer that size. We have always had to kick our bulldogs. It's part of having one. It is not that difficult. I do not understand why someone would spend alot of money because they have to "kick" the hitch. You do it twice a day at most. Just leave it the way it is. It looks fine man.

Witch one? The kicking or the making sure the ball is in there right?

it dont cost that much the coupler is $25 at harbor freight. i tooke me 30 min of my time and love it. now a 2" ball isnt that strong. most are 5500 to 6000 lbs balls that trailer is most likely 7000 gvw.

CampbellLawnCare
09-27-2009, 08:40 PM
yeah, i replaced my ball with a stainless 2" bulldog with a 5000lb rating, it has a flat top on the ball and seems to be alot easier attaching it then my round 3000lb ball, maybe its just in my head. Either way i think im gonna stick with this bulldog coupler

looks nice man, the truck sags a good bit when its all loaded up but some spring helpers will fix that.

looking at ridecontrol, by air lift. you can adjust the ride height, with or without a load on the truck

yea i have always liked air rides but im always concerned with stuff breaking down the road. the more parts you have the more parts can break.

Firestone ride rites or timbrens are the best way to go. I have the timbrens on my 09 silverado and they help out a bunch. My truck does not squat with the trailer and a full load of grass.
