Run this idea by you guys. I find it really hard to read the oil level in a engine right after a oil change. Have you guys ever thought about just adding some simple food coloring to the oil to help make it more visible on the dip stick?

Good? Bad? Dumb?

I color the end of the dipstick with a black permanent ink marker, I don't know how long it stays on (customer's units) but it makes the level readable at the time.

I use magic markers also. I don't care how long it lasts. Customers rarely check the oil.

I will have to try that. You would think they would come black from the factory if it helps.

I drill a small hole in the dip stick at the full level. That way if the hole is filled with oil it is at the correct level.
