I've been searching here but I have had no luck in seeing any pictures of leaf boxes for the aluminum dump inserts by truckcraft! If you have any pics of your set up, please either pm me or post them here. If there is a pic that I somehow missed on this site, please post the link. I do not want to spend the money for the truckcraft leaf box kit.

Thanks in advance!

Build a leaf box for it. It will be a lot cheaper than buying the leaf box kit which im assuming is a pretty penny.

I have an idea of how I am going to go about making mine. Just wanted to see how others have done theirs. The aluminum inserts are a bit tricker to make a leaf box. I have zero intentions of buying the truckcraft leaf box. Again if you don't feel like posting yours on an open forum, you can pm me. Thanks agan!

Not one person has a picture of a leaf box built on an aluminum truckcraft dump insert? Leaf season is upon us! Come on guys, someone of the 90,000 plus members on this site is itching to throw a few pics up and help get some creative juices flowing.

Thanks!

Ill attach a photo of my truck. Its a grain body though and its more of a leaf canvas, not a box.

I hope this helps:)

Not what your looking for, but heres an idea. Dump trailer with loader mounted on the back. I'll be setting up my larger dump trailer for leaves this year. Its got 6 foot walls and is a 7x14.

wouldnt it be easier to mount the loader on the front of the dump trailer high enough above the battery box, so you dont have to move it every time you dump?

Its discussed in my thread but i'll explain it again. Its not a good idea to have it up front because of a few reasons. Its much easier to back up to a pile then to block traffic and pull up next to it. Also, say you drop the hose? There goes a nice deep scratch/dent on the truck. When its in the back you avoid all those things. Heres a link to my thread. http://www.lawnsite.com/showthread.php?t=250869

I've got the TC-120 dump insert on my F-250. Have some ideas for this fall in mind but nothing done as of yet.

I'll prolly leave my side boards in place and throw a full size sheet of plywood on top. Should be about 6.5' tall.

j&R,
I have a F250 as well and im just wondering how your suspension holds up with the insert and a full load. Im looking into getting the TC-100 insert and plan on using it for fall clean ups but im not sure if it will handle the leaf box i build plus a full load of leaves. any input???

Thanks guys for all the replies!!! I have seen all of those pics but the grain truck (which is awesome too!). The steel inserts are constructed different than the aluminum inserts. the steel inserts have "post pockets" in them that you can put 2x4's or whatever size they are in it to brace the box. The aluminum insert has the brackets for the side boards built in, no pockets.

I believe that I am going to put the treated plywood in the place of the side boards put a mesh tarp on top and plywood on the front and back. I also have a grate over the back window of the truck, so I was wondering how I would keep the chopped up leaves from going in there.... possibly another mesh tarp? I have a giant vac leaf loader that i'm using in conjunction with our walker mower so I am excited for leaves! This is the first year or our dump insert for leaves also.

Hope this makes what i'm trying to achieve more clear!:waving:

My 06 F250 has a 9600 gvw, 6000 FAWR and I'm not sure what the rear is. I think its 6600 or so. Its ok. I've had 4 yards of mulch (2600 lbs or so) and it didn't squat much. Timbrens would be ok but I'm looking to throw a set of ride right air bags on it.

For the back side (truck cab side) I use a sheet of window screen to cover it. It works pretty well!

Just curious on how much Truckcraft inserts cost. I am looking at hthe aluminum TC-120 for a shortbed Chevy. Don't know how much they are and haven't called a dealer yet. How much do these inserts cost?

Short bed? Is this for a 1500? I would highly advise against this... 2500 minimum.

No, No. No way I'd put one in a 1/2 ton. I have a 2500 hd Duramax. It is crew cab short bed. I actually already have bags on the rear for when I pull my camper. I wouldn't put anything more in the bed than mulch or topsiol only. I was just really curious on how much these cost?

I was just quoted 3100 for a 8 ft truckcraft installed but that didn't include the head board which is a extra $250

Thank you. I was just curious to see how much 1 costs. Maybe next year I will go ahead with it.

Gotcha, for some reason when i saw short bed, i thought 1500. I didn't even know they made dump inserts for a short bed. Have you thought about buying a used dump trailer possibly? You can fit a ton more... volume and weight wise.

Yes, I am sort of keeping my eye out for a dump trailer, the only problem is all my equipment is garage kept. If I got a dump trailer I would have to keep it outside or keep it at a relatives house in the pole barn which is about 15 miles away. A dump insert solfed the problem.
