I recently demoed a Ferris 4500z with a 28 horse cat diesel and was impressed by the power of the engine vs my Hustler Super Z with 27 horse Kohler. However I have elected to stay with Hustler due to the outstanding service I recieve from my dealer, difference in weight and length, Hustlers smooth steering and automatic parking brake. I will be purchasing a new mower next year and am considering the Hustler Z Diesel. I am worried that the 25 horse Shibaura Diesel engine may be underpowered as I can achieve almost as much torque with the 30 horse Kohler (47.1 lbs Kohler vs. 49 lbs shibaura) Why doesn't Hustler offer more powerful options? (Ferris offers up to 37 horse engines) Also I am confused as to why the diesel engine is offered on the Z setup but not on the Super Z. Do you know of any future changes coming up in the Hustler commercial line? Hustler seems more worried about catering to the residential market than expanding and improving thier commercial / industrial line.
