There is a John Deere walk behind that looks to be in decent shape for $400 obo. My question is should i buy it? I am expecting an email back, but in the add, he said it was key start and ran good. Below are some pictures. Please hurry in your responses, because the Lawn Site user, Frierson, is wanting to purchase it also.

if you thinks its a good deal then go for it. A few questions for you to ask are how many hours, what year hours the trans etc. But for 400 dollars get it. You wont find another deal like it:laugh:

If I were you I would save your money and buy a Wright stander. They blow walk behinds out of the water, you can get done with a yard twice as fast and you don't have to walk or ride a sulky. You can fit more on your trailer with a stander verses a walk behind because they are so compact. I have one myself, it is a 32" cut and it can go through any gate, it is one great machine.

ok, but find me a Wright for that price. Most Wrights that are cheaper are beat to hell anyway. Based on the original poster's sig, I get the impression that this would be his first commercial mower, and I think its a great place to start. Even if you gotta put a couple hundred bucks into it, you're still way ahead of the game. That thing will make you a lot of money and you'll have it for a while, even as a backup if you upgrade your equipment. I would jump on it for $400.

I just bought that same mower earlier this year and I really like it, being your first commercial mower you'll notice a big difference in cut, it will be great for gates. That battery setup is pretty crazy looking but elec start is always nice.

i wouldn't buy it looks like they cut the front skirt of the deck off. just judging from the poor quality pics the thing looks way hammered and has no life left.
