I was thinking that blowers are so powerful these days does anyone use a hopper to discharge fertilizer or compost.
I was talking to a customer yesterday and he says he has a hopper on his MARUYAMA blower, he uses a local compost and blows it into the beds of the shrubs he takes care of
seems like a great tool for applying small amounts of compost

I had a client who tried that, once.

We use a STIHL but never tried it for compost. It is a mist blower that converts to granular. We use it for our tick applications and bed ferts when they are granular.

Yeah, that's what my client had. After a few attempts he realized that this method of application did not lend itself to the amount of vermicompost required to provide results. Another client had great results by applying vermicompost with a hand scoop and wheel barrow. I would think thermicompost would require an even heavier application.
And Bryan, I'm still digesting the extent of your fairy ring problem. Wow!

Yeah, thats what he uses it for blowing fertilizer into beds
I replied to your fairy ring issue on the sports turf side and will have Barry get in an order for RhizoChar for your seeding application. We can send some samples up, the product has not been released yet so this would be an excellent trial site.
The NPP will knock out the fairy ring, you may see mushrooms next as the fungi goes into stress mode and sends up fruiting bodies to try to save itself, with preventative applications next year it will be an unhappy memory next year
I have the Stihl 420 backpack blower with the dry granular applicator kit. I use it to apply Casaron in the fruit orchard.
My compost would be too moist for the backpack blower but I can just imagine the dust cloud if it was dry enough to blow!
