Lawn renovation question

Getting ready to renovate a lawn for a customer that has a large area of weeds w/o much grass. Is it better to spray this area with maybe a non-selective herbicide to kill off the weeds or should I just dig the stuff out and till the dirt? I will be laying sod on the area once I get it cleared out.

JUst spray it with roundup and then go from there. Did a plug job saturday, sprayed the areas and then went back a few dyas later and filled them.

yes, spray weed killer (kill all vegitation) and then try to plant grass. Good luck:laugh:

What type of grass? Now is the worse time to plant grass unless you are doing a warm season grass.

kill it all off then start from scratch. much easier that way. especially if it isn't a large yard to work with.
