Just wondering if any of you guys service the home(s), or should I say Estates of any celebrities or any Top Executives form big corporations.
Pro athletes, Local new anchors, actors, etc.... How did you get them? They call you, or was it thru someone you know?

That's pretty cool.....How did you guys get hooked up with these people? Do you tend to give them a little better service then the "Average Joe" customer?
I service 2 NHL hockey players that play for 2 different teams and I can honestly say that I never was "Star Struck" but it was cool for a few days knowing that I added a couple high profile people to my customer list.
A few years back I use to service a very well known morning radio DJ who also does voice overs for TV commercials and national radio ads and I had a well known local news anchor.
At the end of the day, I do just as good of a job on there properties as I do for the elderly folks who are on a limited income. As long as the price is right and the checks don't bounce, it's all good.

I did work for Tom Ridge in the past. Never even saw him or talked to him in person but he did send a letter praising the job we did on his spring clean up. Honestly I made sure every thing was perfect perfect more so than for the average joe.

Brad Faxon(Pro Golfer) lives across the street from me in a 10-20 Million dollar mansion. For a golfer his lawn isn't that nice though. He has a mini-put course in his basement! A lot of large executives of companies live in my neighborhood. For now I have no choice but to try and convince them to try me. I currently cut a phyciatrists lawn, and the head of an engineering firm!

I have done work for John Calipari when he used to live in NJ ( coaching the Nets). That was some time ago though.
we did work for the governor of the state, pretty neat with all security and all, but they never bothered us, and was wild when I would get a call and someone would say governors office, please hold for him. But then he had a stroke in office and passed away and was a really sad time around there.

I met Sam Walton back in my younger days, he was at the front door greeting people, my dad seemed to know him rather well. Had beers with Johnny Tapia (boxer), and Danny Romero(boxer). Played college football with Keith Jardine MMA Fighter. And the the best LB in the nfl, Brian Urlacher, homegrown.

I now work exclusively for a Fortune 100 CEO...pretty sick estate. "My" neighbors are Curtis Martin, LL COOL J, and J-lo....and they're the poor ones around here...lol. Seriously though, I got this job after trying to break in for a few years and finally got lucky. Ive always worked for high end customers and have always had a slight obsession with absolutely destroying my competition in terms of curb appeal and maintenance quality. All because of who trained me.

He had a Deere walk behind already on site. Each morning a boat was sent to pick me and the others up with trimmers, gas and other assorted hand tools. It was beautiful. Water all around, cool breeze and fresh air.

I forgot to mention, I also serviced a father and son who are both Professional outdoors man. They have had their own hunting and fishing shows on local and national tv and have fished in many high profile walleye and bass tournaments aired on ESPN.
Two of the most Froogle customers I have ever had. Matter of fact the son still owes me $85 for a weed control treatment!
I was just glad to drop them 4 years ago and forget about the 85 bucks. Trying to get paid from them was like trying to pull teeth.
I use to mow for the asst.manager of the local Sonic drive inn, does that count?

Chuck Smith former Atl Falcon...Dropped him three months ago was always late paying and still owes me 280. Put a lien on his house last month but still have not heard anything. We also cut for a guy who works for the DOD. (Dept. of Defense) Saw on his check it was drawn on Senate Federal Credit Union and asked him what he did. All he would say is do I watch the tv show "the unit". Have never asked him anything else about it again. He is never home and has another home in Kosovo.

I find it hard to believe nobody on here mows for big hollywood type stars!( Yes I read the post with John Travolta) but who is mowing for all the other celebs? They might have full time groundskeepers, but as tight as they are, I doubt it! Wheres the LCOs that work in Southern CA? I know theres at least a handful on here. Could you imagine getting a call to bid mowing for Tom cruise or George Clooney, brad pitt?!! Im not easily star struck, but that would be neat! Those are always the type of people that try to get things cheap as possible too! Anyone ever mow any porn stars homes? Now that would be great! Price would DEFINITELY be negotiable, Bartering for goods and services suddenly comes to mind!

I door knocked someone pretty famous this spring. Treated him like normal Joe, then the neighbors started talking. I Googled his name, and sure enough, he has more money than I realized.

you would be surprised how most celebs act. I received John from his Boat mechanic. Shaq is a HUGE gun fan, saw him in Bass Pro several times where he frequently shops. Got to talking, He wanted to get rid of a pontoon boat at his Isle worth House in Orlando. I offered to remove it for free for him, things went on from there. Same with Pat Garrity, I had season tickets for the Magic so saw him and JJ all the time. One thing to another. One thing to remember, more times than not your really working for a family member living at one of the houses.

I'm not a Landscaper, Irrigation Guy. I've work at Michael J Fox , Kevin Costner , Danielle Steel , Skip Barber , Elizabeth Johnson - Johnson & Johnson and some guy that use to own Israeli Air Lines. All of them live in the Northwest part of CT.
Michael J Fox was the best job. He had a party for all the contractors when the House was done. He had a Band and a fully blown catered lunch for us. He came around and thanked all of us individually. This was about 3 years before he got Parkinson's Disease.

I use to maintain 2 houses for Michael Vick. One was for his mom and the other was for his girlfriend. Both houses were paid for by Vick. Shortly after everything happened, both were sold.

pretty sure people that tend to the big wigs are going to respect their privacy and not brag, I handle a couple automotive CEOs and my favorite hockey player...
we work for several high profile people ,big time news guys , and 1 certian man in this state that the contract only allows THE SAME 2 people to come into the property with open trailers and he told us we would have the property untill one of the 2 guys there quits the minute 1 quits we loose the property . they have fully automatic's in plain views and the guys joke they must be drug dealers j/k the orginization pay $3k a week year long .
MikeKle
11-09-2009, 10:04 PM
XLS, they pay you $3000. per week, and all year for lawn care in TN?!!!! If he has armed guards walking around, he is probably a big time drug dealer or maybe high up in the mafia. I would be scared to handle a property like that. Just imagine if the FBI shows up for a raid, you are getting arrested too, just for being there! DO they actually make sure it is the same 2 guys? For that kind of money, I would keep those 2 employees for life!
well Mike i am on a dont ask dont tell relationship with them but i personally know not to ask . If the FBI shows up i am cleared , i have a contract and it says we are suposed to be there to service the prop they park in the street lock up the truck and ride over , get buzzed in , get patted down do the work get buzzed out and departs property.
They mail the check on Monday for the friday service date ( up front) WE PAY TAXES so no law is broken on our part at all . Yes the same guys or we get fired is how it was said . they have no plans to leave i pay them each $700 off that job alone just to keep them .
