2nd day in a row, I am headed to bed looking at snow flying out my window.
IN THE MIDDLE OF OCT!

I don't get mad very easy, but this just hoses me off. I realize the stuff melts in a day but there are lawns to mow out there and I end up losing entire days of work because of this crap.

Anyone else out there frustrated by the white junk OR cold temps?

No snow or ice here yet, but its been constant rain and flooding. Grass is totally soaked, couldnt mow if you wanted to without sinking and tearing up the acct. Soil is way to soft and saturated. I feel your frustration.

We are getting flooded here too. Lows in the 40s, 50s, 60s. Highs in the 60s to 70s. Typical October El nino weather pattern in the South East. I just mow when I can and don't worry about it. Customers probably getting sick of me taking their money anyway:laugh: Really, one customer cut me off yesterday and the grass is still growing pretty good. I didn't like that but what can you do? Been a pretty good summer so I didn't say anything

It's been pretty bad rain and Temp wise here. Luckily no snow but I did get the plow out and repaired just in case. I think it was about this time last year we had 6 inches of snow.

Just yesterday the farmers finally started harvest. Normally by now they are about 65 percent done, but it looks like everyone will be in the fields well past Thanksgiving this year.

I was talking to an older gentleman the other day, and he said he never could remember a fall like this one.

Is the grass even growing down in rochester? Up here in the metro area the rate of growth has slowed to where this week would have been the last week of cutting and not all lawns are going to even need it. Hopefully starting the first round of cleanups next week.

Greenery - lawns are fully green and the ones I have ferted for fall (most of them) still need cut for a couple weeks yet. I like to take most of my lawns 1/2 shorter b/f the real cold sets in so yes, there is still mowing to do.

You should seriously think about doing snow relocation...

I mean, you do live in Minnesota...and snow plowing has a much higher profit margin that landscape maintenance.

Commercial plowing that is.

North metro to minneapolis and we are still cutting. I was hoping to get 2-3 more mows in but we will see. Will start cleanups the first of November

No interest in plowing - no consistency of work.
I take care of my baby daughter daytimes in the winter.

Snow? What is this crap I keep hearing about called snow:laugh: I cleaned out the pool right before dark and the water was still nice. Worked all morning in a tank top in a non stop rain and enjoyed it after a brutal hot summer. You folks up north can keep all that white stuff up there!

I remember back in the late 60's got a good snow here that accumlated. I hated that cold nasty mess. Then in the early 90's got a light one and dang if I could drive in it. Yeah, y'all keep it with you.
