We have an Isuzu NPR, and had it serviced as it just acted like it was stalling out, then just went kaput. Had to have it towed (not cheap), and it was serviced. They put on a fuel filter, flushed it. Explained something about the fuel separator.
Ok it ran fine for about 100 miles, now a gas light come on located in the dash. I have found out this much:
"Further protection is afforded by a fuel/water separator that incorporates a dash mounted indicator lamp that notifies the driver when the filter needs the water to be drained."
Ok...am I supposed to drain this, and how do I do it? I can't find any info anywhere. I am going to call the place we had it serviced (which cost $400). But being a woman I expect a run around and I'd like to be a little more knowledgeable when I call.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Those fuel tanks can accumulate water in them over time. We had 2 gallons in one of the trucks once. Just ask the mechanic to show you where it is and what to do.

wow. let me keep all my snide remarks to my self.

find the fuel filter/water separator (it will say that on the side) and turn the little knob on the bottom of it until water no longer runs out. then see if your tank had a plug in it or a pet **** and drain the water.

Sounds like you have a bad batch of diesel fuel. It isn't reccomended to siphon diesel fuel the bugs in the diesel can make you very sick but if you siphon off the bottom of the tank it should get rid of the water. Keep the hose right on the bottom and pump out the water the fuel floats on top.

Once you have done that dump in some Howes diesel treat.

You other option is pump the tank right dry and refill with clean diesel and dump in some Howes.
