I have used a product called weed-aside It works well on weeds and grass that do not have a tap root or large root system mainly just the small stuff.
I think with most of these herbicidal soaps it takes 2 to 3 or even 4 apps. to kill weeds completly off. Maybe you should try your mixture again on the same grass and see if you get better results.

It's getting a bit cool for these products to perform well. Try using a propane torch. Here's one http://www.flameengineering.com/Red_Dragon_Propane_Torch_K.html

It seems that torches and manufacture of vinegar, then the processing of vinegar, along with multiple applications, and the added trips to the clients property, would leave a much greater carbon footprint then a one time shot of of an oz. of glyphosate.

I am not trying to start a 'contoversy', over politics. This is a real question dealing with stewardship of the environment and economy. Things that organic lawn pros should be able to discuss intelligently with the general public.

What is the toxin level, CO2, issues, between an oz of Gly, and the growing, spraying, shipping of apples, to processing them into 20% acid vinegar?

That may be a good point if the issue was the carbon footprint. Then again maybe not, who has tracked the amount of energy used to manufacture glyphosate?

The bigger issue is water quality and public health. There are many studies pointing to glyphosate as a product of concern.

They have determined that the fellow that ended up dieing after years of drinking glyphosate(to prove it was safe), was actually poisoned by the 'inert' ingredients.
There is a push to have 'all' the elements in an herbicide named, rather than just the AI.

To produce Corn and Soybeans, glyphosate is sprayed as much on the fields as fertilizer is. By consuming Vinegar you are contributing to glyphosate spraying a countless acres of agricultural land. Same with consuming tofu. :)
