I am looking to replace my 03 ram diesel pickup with a dump. I came across this truck which seems like a pretty good deal. I test drove it and everything seems tight. Still about a year left on the 5/100K duramax warranty. What are your thoughts? any common problems with the 06 Duramax?
Thanks

That is a good price for a truck that ya it is only 2wd but you don't always need 4wheeldrive.
If you need a dumping flatdeck I would go for it you can't beat the price.

Learn to spell opinion.
How is that truck so cheap? Most CC 06 Dmax pickups are about 22.

Thank you WG.... I do know how to spell opinion. I just forgot to check what I wrote before I posted. It happens.

The carfax report states that this truck was a repo. The dealer purchased the truck from auction in June. I would prefer an Izusu cab forward but for this price I might just have to jump on it.

Hey man, i looked at that truck back awhile ago. It seems to be a good deal, i was just worried because it was a 4500 it wasn't gonna be big enough in the future. But its a really good price now! Jeez!

evan528, I'm just messin with ya. But take advantage of this cheap offer, that truck retail is at least $50,000 brand new. Granted it's not brand new, but still, that's a damn good truck for that price!

You don't want to pass up on deals like that and being it is a 2wd it is probably scaring people off. You don't need 4wheeldrive for most of the time anyhow. Good traction tires and a Detroit True trac or a Detroit locker will take that truck anywhere you need to go.
The 4500 is probably just like a F-450 there isn't much difference between it and a 550 except for rear springs.

I can picture it now, enclose that back end and it would make an awesome leaf rig for fall.
what are your needs for the truck? you want to trade in your ram?

My needs for the truck are mostly to haul mulch, stone and landscape material. Luckily, the area where I work has free township curbside leaf removal so no need for a leaf box. Although 4x4 would be nice... I think I could do without it.
I would really prefer a crew cab and a landscape/grain body dump which is why I havent jumped on this deal yet. Once you are used to the room of crew cabs/ext cabs I can imagine it would be tough not to have it.
Thanks for your OPINIONS guys. Got to give this one some thought.....

Paul burns is a stones throw from me. He has had the truck for a while. Some of his trucks are good, others aren't so good.
If your looking for a couple good deals on Stake Body dumps, check out Truck shopper. Barlow chevy in Willingboro NJ has a couple 03-04 F450's from a local NE Philly company. uder 60k for $14,000 or so.

J&R, I think I have decided to hold out for a crew cab Isuzu.... seem to be the most problem free diesel truck around.
After all of the horor stories I have heard about the ford 6.0's I wouldnt touch one no matter how good the price was.
I did stop at "truck smart" which is a couple doors down from Paul Burns. The owner seems to be very knowledgable and trust worthy.... hard to come by in the used truck marketplace. I think I am going to let him find me the truck I want.
The guys at Paul Burns were not the most professional nor did they have any knowledge at all of the truck.

Hey bud, i think it was about 25,500 then. But it was back awhile ago. I hear ya on professionalism, my friend Maureen bought a stepside chevy there, all they were doing the entire time was checking her out. Of course i notice that kinda stuff because she is pretty attractive haha and i also in the past checked her out. But yes their truck knowledge is not so good. I bought my 3500 Hd from a place in Gilbertsville, Ez auto sales. Curtis the owner is pretty good, he has alot of used dump truck etc. Just make sure to get the truck looked at, i didnt it was back 4 trimes.
