How are you lco fairing due to downturn in the economy? I am licenced, insured, and a member of the BBB. I am all for equal opporitunity, but these flyby night lco seem to think all it takes is to be in this business is go buy a mower, trailer, and handtools, wallha your in business. I have lost clients to these idiots. What is happening in your area?

I personally haven't lost any work due to the fly by nighters. I see them around, but haven't had any problems.

A fly by nighter is usually someone that just takes there 21" home mower and starts cutting lawns for $10 and is uninsured (sometimes referred to as a lowballer), doesn't pay taxes....An LCO is a lawn care operator.

The less time I worry about what anyone else is doing,
the more time I have to spend on my own business.

I've seen an increase in FBN's, I've seen a ton, TON of contractors rippin' their "Construction" signs off their trucks and replacing them with "Landscaper" signs. I've seen retired husband and wife teams, buy resi equipment and start mowing. I've seen irrigation companies add "and Lawn Service" to their truck signs.
Have I lost work? Current work and current customers? No. But what's being lost is potential for new work. There are way too many part timers...
My attitude - go be a plumber, or a painter.....
