I was looking for mon ths for a new f550 but now im considering a fuso 4x4. What kind of experiences do people have with their fusos? I know this is a little bit of apples vs oranges, and i know the 550 has loads more power but the fuso is incredibly manueverable and i think it will be better plowing with a V plow seeing that the visibility is almost 500% better at all angles vs an f550. Basically i just want to hear some stories from people who have had both medium duty 4x4 fords and a 4x4 fuso. thanks fellas, and get those blowers ready for leaves.

Mitsubishi drags a Fuso 4x4 to one of the big trade shows in my region every year. Usually I see it at 2 or 3 different shows every year. They are so awesome, I love driving it. They ride nice, turn great, extremely maneuverable, unmatched visibility, excellent fit and finish, plenty of power, good gear ratios. Just an all around excellent truck.
If you want a slightly larger cab over the UD 3300 is available with Pioneer 4x4.
The only reason I don't own one is dealer support. The dealers are so far away. It could either take an expensive (thousands of dollars) tow bill or chancing a local mechanic to get it fixed when it breaks. Everything breaks at one point or another. I like being able to drag my rig 20 miles tops to get it worked on.
If you can get dealer support for it, buy one. If I was in Seattle, Portland, Spokane, or a big city I'd definetely get one.

There is a big difference in gvw. The FUSO is 14,000lbs the F-550 is up to 19,000lb gvw. I think the FUSO uses 16 inch tires they don't carry a heavy load your maxed out with that gvw rating.

I don't know if this a concern for you, but isn't the Fuso only available with a MT? Makes it much slower in reverse when plowing vs an AT.
On the plus side, in addition to maneuverability, the Fuso would be better on fuel.
