I am looking at getting a NPR with trailer with a dump bed. Would it pull a 20ft trailer with 3zs and grass in the dump bed?

Lots of variables there. If your in the flat lands...a gas one is more than enough. If your talking used, they changed those things around a LOT from 95 to 02. Seemed like every year was different..hoist placement, body length, transmisson, etc. I'm familiar with gas and diesel up to 02' if your talking used.

Actually, it is a gmc type truck. I believe it is a 92 model with the diesel.

Do a lot of research if you can. I belive it was the 93's with either blocks that cracked or bad transmissions.(auto) Im not too sure about them prior to 95. The diesel itself will pull what you want...the year isnt important for that purpose. When they first started playing around with them...sometimes the dump hoist would be too far to the rear and would have a problem handling the weight of a full load of wet grass...im talkin 12 yards and WET. 93's aside...The trannies are usually good to about 130-140k max. The motors can hit 200 or more without major stuff..although by then the truck surrounding it will likely be done. Not sure about the new ones.....but thru 02 they didnt have self adjusting brakes front to rear. You had to take a screw driver into the rear hubs to do it. Lots of cooked front rotors out there. Although they are some of the easist trucks out there to work on...stuff on them isnt cheap...and depending on where you live..your mechanic needs a lift that will handle it.

I see old and new Isuzu dumps pulling enclosed trailers 20 feet and bigger every day around here. They seem to keep up with traffic around town without any problems. I have never towed with one but have had about 8k on a 12ft flatbed diesel HD and 65 was about all she had.

I tow a 7000 lb trailer/machine with 2500 lbs of fertilizer in the truck body no problem. 2003 npr hd diesel, 4 speed automatic.
