why does the oil in the final drives smell so bad? and why does it turn black? its just gears going around, no carbon or explosions?

im figuring it has something to do with the heat breaking the oil down?

i checked mine today and for some reason the drive had alot of pressure in it when i opened it up baaaaaam!!!! it gave me a facial of hot as fuuuuuuu ck 80w 90 !!! i was white one minute and a brother the next.

Final drives are sealed and when they build heat they build pressure.

Lubicrants break down due to pressure, heat and contamanaints.

Try switching to a synthetic lube they are more stable.
If the oil is that bad you may also need to shorten the change intervals.

i know that the gear oil on my supercharger on my car, when i had it, was made from rendered fats, and thats why it smelled so bad, synthetic lubricants smell a bit better. it depends on the composition i suppose.
