Just wondering if you can buy a hydro 40hp plus compact tractor with loader for 12k or less. I have searched up and down for used units but they seem non existent at this price point. Any brands or models to be on the look out for?

Look for a Bobcat CT440 or something in the New Holland Boomer series. They're the least expensive quality tractors in that size range new. That'd be your best bet.

FWIW, the Bobcat tractors are sick. I want one so bad.

Sorry Hanau.

Bobcat tractors are HUGE POS's. I have tried to like them, but I always end up disappointed and buy another Deere.

Most Bobcat dealers carry the Kubota line, and when you have a line as good as Kubota, the crappy white ones just don't compair. Therefore, Bobcat is offering crazy deals to get rid of their tractors.

If you know anything about a good tractor, you will understand.

Isnt Bobcat just a rebranded Kioti?

For once I'm not picking on you man.

Just trying to help.

Bobcats are rebranded Kiotis.

I have tried a couple of them and neither come close to the Deeres I have.

I would love to have a Deere but I just think they are out of my price range right now.

I what aspect?
My Kiotis will out weigh out lift and out power the comperable Deere the only thing Deere has more of is a price.
It's pretty bad when Kioti makes a 40hp compact tractor that lifts 2,800lbs on the loader and you have to buy a yellow Deere to get even close to that.

I think you have Deere in your brain and you will never be happy with any other brand, and that's why you have to make comments like that.

It's a common misconception that Deere tractors are all high priced. The premium utility tractors are higher priced than your typical Kubota, Kioti, etc., but they also have a lot of features the cheaper tractors don't. If you're looking for a small hydro tractor at a lower price point, take a look at the 3000E tractors, specifically the 3038E (38 engine hp). I did a quick search of TractorHouse and MachineFinder, and there are brand new units with loaders for less than $16k. Most of the used Deere utility tractors on the market are the premium level tractors (since that's what Deere focused on until the past few years), and are nearly as expensive as our brand new value-minded options. Peruse the internet and check with your local dealer before ruling Deere out. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I think Kiotis are an excuse for a tractor. And bobcat tractors are that excuse's excuse.
Sorry. My opinion

I don't care what a tractor can lift, big deal. I have loaders for the lifting that I do.

I know you wanted to re-tract this post -

Overall I have a few brands and I would grab a Kioti if I had local support for it if I needed another machine.....however since they are sold under the Bobcat badge, there goes my lack of support statement because Bobcat is solid in that regard... so I think the Bobcat will drive more kioti sales, then kioti on its own plus they can support it better, in my opinion

I take no offense to anything you said...This is something I am faced with every day when we try to sell "off brands" once we convince customers that the color of the machine is only half the purchase and your dealer support is where you should be banking then any sale is easy regardless off the color.
We have seen it all generally the dealer makes a good or bad tractor not the manufacture!

Kioti owners seem to be overall pleased with their iron. Im a kubota guy but i think kioti builds a quality tractor. I would go so far as saying they are in the top 6 in the 40 hp and under class of cut.

I was also trying to say.

I am not a brand loyal kind of guy. I go for what works for me. Deere is just what fits me the best. Its not because they are the best, its because of my dealer support.

Most manufacturers these days build a pretty good machine. The details are in the guys that design them. Different people like to build in different features and put things in different places. Overall you just have to find something that fits you, the way you move around, and the stuff you move around. I personally like the way Massey puts thier machines together. But I got a 'bota because the specs were basically the same and the 'bota dealer is only 2 miles away from me......super easy close support. It just took me a little while to get used to things on the machine being configured different.

As far as being able to find a hydro with a FEL for under 12k... you're gonna have to get something with a few hours and maybe a few dings in it. The good thing about buying used is the seller usually wont mind you putting around in it and seeing how everything is put together.
If you hit tractorhouse.com you can look and dig into every manufacturer and model. Pack a lunch, the site is huge.
