View Full Version : Disneyland & Hilton Have Good Taste
JimLewis

Been down here in Anaheim with the family for the last 6 days and I gotta say... Disneyland and Hilton have good taste in spray heads!
I won't say which brand they had. But it starts with a R and ends with a Bird! And you know...nothing but the best will do for Disney and Hilton.
Anyway, greetings to all of you from the happiest place on Earth!

Don't think I could handle Disneyland or Disneyworld. If I had kids, I'd rather take them on a camping/backpacking or skiing trip. Just my preference. Not saying it's right or wrong.

Great looking family. I'll bet you guys had a great time. It's been few years since I was there, but I remember being very impressed with the level of maintenance there.

Did you stay on Disney property?
Did you go through downtown Disney?
Heck, even in the city of Anaheim, the median strips are well maintained compared to other cities in the area. I know Walt always did kick in a few tax dollars to make sure surrounding area always looked good.
Did you go to the other theme park, California Dreaming or whatever they called it. If you did, was the new water cannons under water yet or where they still testing.
I am always impressed on how the grounds down there are always in good shape. Funny to see the irrigation systems from one park to another.
On the newer side, they tended to use more drip components whereas on the older side of the park all the flowerbeds is irrigated with fixed sprays. Funny to see around the Autotopia area, a lot of the 12" heads are Toro's with the remaining parts of the park RB's with s.a.m.'s in some places and other parts no.

No, we stayed at the Hilton, as I said above. But we did have dinner at one of the restaurants at the Disneyland Hotel one night. I've stayed at the main Disneyland Hotel the past 2 times but this time we stayed at the Hilton because that's where our friends were staying.
We did go through Downtown Disney a few times. Had dinner there one night too. Didn't go through the city of Aneheim much though.
Yes, we spent a few days in Ca. Adventures too. The water canons were not buried yet. They were just sitting there out in the open with some signs out saying this part of the park was under construction. Nobody was working on them or testing them during the time we were there. But it looks to be mighty impressive once they're done doing whatever they're doing there.
I did notice a few areas had SAMs while others just had regular 1800s. But I never saw any other brand like you mentioned (toros, etc.) But then again, I wasn't mostly focused on looking at irrigation. That was just something I was noticing while waiting in lines. I was more focused on having fun with the family, obviously. Still, RB 1800s were all I saw and one or two areas I saw drip tube.
I took a few photos of irrigation heads at Matt's (Hosk) request. But we lost our nice camera sometime during the last 2 hours of hustle as we left for the airport. So we're still trying to retrieve that. Could have been left in the rental car, in any number of shuttles we took, at Disneyland, in downtown Disney, at the Rental car office, rental car shuttle, or airport. So it's been difficult trying to find the camera. It has the last day and half of photos on it. Fortunately, I was downloading all the other photos every night. So we got most of the photos here on my computer.

Well, I don't ski or snowboard really. And I am not sure if I can really take that kind of risk at this stage in my life. If I broke a leg or something my whole company would suffer if I was laid up for a while. But I do love Vail and I'd love to stay at Aspen one day. Just hanging out in those cities is cool as heck. Tons of fun things to do there. I'd love to go back one day.
Our next trip is to Maui in January for the Rain Bird Select Contractor Conference (compliments of Rain Bird). 7 days on a tropical beach kinda beats out the Rockies. Sorry.

To each his own. I'm not a beach kinda guy. I'll do it because the GF likes it, but I'd much rather be in the mountains with the cold and snow. My body doesn't do well with heat.
Just wanted to throw it out there. Trying to get another one or two good guys to go.
Not much beats giving it your all on the slopes, then winding down in the lodge or slopeside bar. Having some cocktails and good food, admiring the honeys. Just to do it again the next day.

You can dig the honeys in the mountain lodges with their winter jackets and and their Uggs. I'll stick to the Hawaiian Island Dolls by a palm tree in the sand. I was boogie bording in Laguna Beach last week. I almost forgot how much fun the beach can be. They are pretty dreary here in Oregon. But nothing beats warm sand and big waves, my friend.

See, at the beach you still have to see big hairy fat guys and girls too.
Just a preference thing. Neither is right or wrong.

Hey. I TOTALLY understand. It's totally a preference thing. Some people like to look at big hairy fat guys and others do not. I'm not judging you. I got an uncle who likes that kinda stuff too. It just isn't for me, that's all. But don't worry. I ain't judging you for that. I totally understand the preference thing. ;-)

Nah, it's not that. It's just; from where I am from, wives are off-limits when it comes to lampooning someone. It's just wrong to dog a man's wife, even in jest.
Plus I didn't understand the comment because none of the women in those photos seemed to be overweight. So I just didn't follow what you were saying or implying either.
Sorry. It just didn't seem funny. That's why I was like, "WTF?"

Ok. So you were trying to say, "Why would you be looking at other women when your wife is so beautiful? Has she gained some weight or something?"
Is that the gist of it?
I guess I didn't understand all that. I thought you were trying to imply something negative about Matt's wife. And yes, for that kind of offense I'm gonna be a little testy.
