B&S 14HP Vanguard OHV valve adjust

Does anyone know the procedure for adjeusting the the valves on this engine. I have the specs but I'm not sure how to position the valves/engine for adjustment. Also which side do I measure at - the valve spring or the rocker arm side with the push rod.

Take the plug out and turn the engine over to top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke. Take a long skinny screw drive and stick in the spark plug hole and turn over until the piston is 1/4 inch past TDC. Adjust the clearance on the valve side of the rocker arms. Later Butch
