I trust you are charging more for the job than the $ 1.00 a minute for the mower. Residential yard here get serviced for about 35 to 65 per visit pending on services done. Commercial contracts 55 per hour per man min.
Pruning labor may be cheap, I charge 75 to 85 per hour, without hauling off. Bagged and put at their curb. Remmember their paying for the expert.
Planting-- I bid jobs at 80% of cost of material generally, but depends on your buying power. Biggest problem soil condition

Everyone is going to be different.

The biggest mistake you can make is basing your price on what others are charging.

Only you can figure out what to charge.

Im my business (sealcoating) tons of guys make great profits and a great living sealing $200 residential driveways.

Unfortunately, I cant do that. If I charge the "going rate" I lose money at the end of the day....Yet for other guys they make a fistful.

What I have to charge to do residential puts me much higher than others and therefore I dont have a big demand for the work.

I have 2 choices.

Go after the customer market that I am competitive in.

Or, make changes in my business so that I can be competitive in the residential market.

Either way, I judge by the "yes or no's" I get.

With large commercial I get more "yes"
With residential I get more "no"

Doesnt change my price one bit though.
