We have been in business for a few years now and have recently been asked to do some fall blow-outs for a few chain restaurants that we do. I did the start up in the spring and most of these places have the backflow device inside and very little outside in terms of piping etc. since we are in an urban area. In some areas they have to shut of the hose fittings on the building because they find bums using them to bathe. This week i am going to try to find any type of blow out fitting that i can on the exterior. I am renting a compressor next week and have experienced help to use it. Where would i find a blowout fitting on a commercial prop? i really do not want to be dragging an air hose through the building.
Thanks for any info

Where do you work? Everyone does it a different. Look around where the irrigation comes out of the building and you should find a connection.

Ya i have 3 burger kings to do, the systems are all different and in some ways they appear hacked together. I have quickly tried to find some type of fitting outside with little luck, even near where the controller/piping is inside the building. I will have to look again more carefully. Are there any other options besides a blowout fitting?

"Where" means what state and city - someone might know what hookups you'll be likely to have.

 Yea, it could be anywhere, might be a threaded tee or a quick coupler, can't say without being there. Just make sure you charge the extra time it takes.

If Massachusetts uses pressure vacuum breakers for backflow prevention, you can hook your air up there.

Look for mainline or manifold drains. even if you have to dig them up. Then let them know next spring (or even this winter) you will have to install an exterior tee fitting to hook to.

Follow the main into the bldg, theres probably a boiler drain within a few feet of where it exits. Could also be in a vb with a couple ft of where it exits the bldg.
