cutting dead winter rye grass

I have the opportunity to cut 4 acres or so of dead winter rye grass with no obstacles. It is 1-2 feet tall in most places. How well will this stuff cut? I'm using a Turf Tiger 61" with a 23 Kohler and Advantage deck. I'm assuming I'll have to double cut it to make it get all the stragglers.

I have been cutting a lot of that stuff lately and have had to double cut or triple cut it. It seems to lay down really bad as the deck pushes over it. I mow it one direction, then go back over it in the oposite direction. Good luck.:)
