I was trying out a used Takeuchi TL130 that was at our local dealer's yard, I was impressed at it's power, speed, lift height and massive cab. I put the bucket into a pile of gravel and the loader lifted it straight up with out even lifting the rear off the ground. The pilot controls were smooth and very responsive, the instrumentation gauges were all down where my eyes were, nothing on top over the door to look at, the heater pumped out some serious heat on this cold day, the Yanmar growled when I knocked a pile of gravel over and my pants felt a little smaller.
The ride quality wasn't even that bad, so I asked how much could I get for trade in for my Cat skidsteer, and just as the sales person was about to show me, I woke up. Sweating from head to toe.

Is this an omen?

Are you sure it was sweat? Maybe you got hosed on the trade-in?

I think it was sweat, I know I can still wet my bed from the other side of the room, but I think it was sweat.

So Ron dreams of skid steers in his sleep and normal people have dreams of woman

You better buy a Takeuchi before you have anymore wet dreams :hammerhead:

Does your local dealer have a TL130 on the lot if so why don't you go see the dealer. You may want to trade in the Cat before you get into some expensive undercarriage repairs. I thought you had a ripped track and some rollers that are chunking off.

Maybe your TK dealer was having this nightmare:

This is the dream you should be having:

I had a dream last night. It involved Taylor Swift, a swimming pool full of whipped cream, 4 midgets, and a gerbil. Can't say anymore, it would be against site rules.

I'm just crazy enough to do it, after all, I am paying $32,000 (less $23,500 trade from T190) straight up trade and add payout ($18,000) minus $28,000 on new TL230, I come out even, with lower payments and ZERO percent intrest.

OR

Do a deal on a used TL140 (bigger and wider) trade Cat with 3 buckets (grapple, combo, regular) add another $5,000 for the buckets (buckets would be way too narrow for the 69" width TL140) buy cheap auctioned off combo and regular buckets and come out with even lower monthly payments, and get a bigger machine for less.

Screw it, no work anyways.

Good thing it was a dream, not a nightmare.

Hell if your dreaming might as well get a new TL 250 with every attachment they make.

When do you have time to run your skid steer your always working for big brother. Is there really enough work to keep a tracked skid steer busy every day ?

Your yellow p*ssy does what you want to do and you still owe money on it keep it.

I thought maybe you would be having dreams of a farm girl fondling your train set

Piece of advice Junior:

When the gal at the gas station offers you the last 3 Hot Pockets for free because they've been under the heat lamp for 14 hours and she's about to throw them away, just say no thanks.

Stale gas station food screws with your head worse than heroin.

I prefer NOT to eat at gas stations unless its one of those ones with a restaurant in them. Even then its iffy.. ;)

What are you worried about eating what about when you have to take a crap go into the washroom and its disgusting

Some gas stations in Vancouver have blue lights in the can so the druggys can't shoot up.

Not enough work to keep it busy everyday, but it's a necessary evil in our work, it's used on the yard to load/unload excavator buckets, the brush head big brother has weighs over 3000 pounds, the T190 could barely pick it up.
We use my skid steer and the mini excavator to pick it up.
Then the next job I have coming up is back filling in between a barn and a new manure pit, only 8 feet of working room, only a tracked skid steer is allowed in there as the pit wall is 150 long and it's too much for a mini excavator.
Other jobs that I have gotten are finish grading after the dozer or the excavators and brush mowing where the excavator can't go.
If I bought a Takeuchi, I will have to focus on going bigger, I want to look into the ROW stuff here, but then I'm looking at changing everything all together, truck, trailer, machine, business name and plan, living accommodations, the whole nine yards, that's a big change.

If your ground freezes up there the ride will absolutely kill you in a Takeuchi during the winter. Although, with your twisted mind you might find some entertaining uses for all the vibration:laugh::laugh:

I am actually selling my tl150 and going back to cat. The takeuchi parts are high, it is not an easy machine to work on, the finish on the machine is not as nice as cat, the tracks are more aggressive on lawns than tire machines, it is not a very good machine for fine grading. The one thing I cannot figure out it is why this JAPANESE machine has such a tall cabs... I have never seen a Japanese person that could fill up half that cab. The Taks are a workhorse, but I would rather be operating a cadillac.

This is a first. I have never heard of someone going back to an MTL after owning a CTL.

I've done a 10 hour shift in a D4G LGP on hard ground with no air ride seat and getting bucked around with my own bunny hops, I can handle what ever ride it gives me, if the operator complains, they are doing something wrong, slow down or take another path.

Cat was supposed to have their small framed CTL's by now, that's why I was getting antsy, but the recession has moved the time frame more towards a year from now, I am eyeing the 269C I was told about, the 259C is the vertical path, I hate those loaders.

When I was running fullsize track loader it was rough riding. Run along then forget about the hole in the road and the front end would fall in.

I don't think anything can be rougher than walking a mini excavator with rubber bands on asphalt.

As for Caterpillar I think they will be slow for some time yet to come. A big company that thinks their chit doesn't stink has killed them.

I heard the other day that Finning's is letting go more people no work for them. Things are pretty dead for them.

Nothing can be as bad as a wheeled skid I can't run one for more than a hour I need to get out. Talk about being bounced around. I have tried being smooth on the yankem sticks (Bobcat) but your still bouncing around.

I have said this before but I seen the comparision a Cat wheeled skid and a Cat tracked skid working on pavement and which one was smoother. Watching the tracked skid was mesmarizing it glided over the surface no bouncing it was smooth. The wheeled skid made my back sore watching it. Same joystick controls but the tires skipped and jumped.

The skid steer business isn't big money maker for this area. Many people tried but there just isn't enough demand. A tracked skid can go in more places but it costs more and the additional work you could get doesn't pay for the machine.

I lost track of how many people have tried to get into the skid steer business and failed from the lack of work. When you have a area where the terrian only permits a wheel barrow and hand tools a skid steer is no good. Even a Dingo type loader can't get around most houses.

Most of my posts are from the "max out the hits" thread in the off topic forum..

And your not getting my point. You say the samething over and over and over again. Just making that simple so I dont have to keep repeating it.

Junior, do what I did, it's quick, easy and simple (just like GR ) Put the whiner on Ignore. From the home page you go to "user CP", from there you scroll down and on the left side you'll see a section that says "settings & options". In that you'll see 5 things to edit, the ignore list is the 5th one down. Open that up add "Gravel Rat" and save it, you'll no longer have to read his drivel, that is unless A: Someone quotes him or B: You chose to open his post and read the same thing he wrote from when he first joined.

Have a GR free rest of your evening :waving:
