Any help appreciate. I'm trying to find a starting price for a friends 2000 CAT 236 skid steer. New tires, 2300 hrs., runs good, no leaks, no problems. I figured a value around $12,500 in Texas. Any ideas? Thanks, Yellow Dog I don't have any pics but it isn't beat up.

I saw that one and started my pricing there. CAT sure does seem to have a low resale value.

As long as the machine doesn't need anything and runs good, $12,500.00 sounds right. Its a 9 year old machine and the market sucks right now...

I paid $12,500 for our 02 236 two years ago with decent tires and 2300hrs. which I thought was a decent deal for the times. I recently tried to sell it with 2500hrs. on it for $12000 but had very little interest. If I really needed the cash I probably could get rid of it quick around 10K. If you are real interested in the machine I would make them a lower offer. It's tough times for equipment sales, use that to your advantage.

As far as the machine I think the 236 is sweet. It has tons of power for it's weight class and any monkey could easily do the maintenance on it.

i have a 236 with 1900 on it, i would take 12 for it. the "a" series is the best cat had. power to weight it is a stronger machine than my 277b. it will turn it self over picking something up where the 277b just stops
