kawasaki-19 Scag STC CranckShaft. My scag wouldnt start so its at the shop. They said its the cranckshaft. Does anyone have a insight on how much they are and if it could possibly be covered under warrenty. Thanks.

Cranks are usually around a couple hundered bucks for a twin. Could be more or a little less. If under 2 years old and a manufacture defect, then it should be covered.

Is this crank broken ? Rods broken ?

Something just doesn't sound right.... :confused:

Yeah, we need some more details. If the crank is bad Im sure that you need rods too. Rods journals fail from lack of lubrication, heat (loose rod bolts) or too tight of rod bolts, the rods will blow apart from overspeeding. If the rod bolts were too tight It might be warrantable. Heat and lack of lube will not be warranty unless the oil pump failed. If the governor failed and the engine was overspeeding you will be able to get warranty for the governor but not likely the rods and crank. Kawi will almost always pay for the initial failure but its tough to get resulting failures. They will tell you its your fault for not shutting the engine down when it started racing.

defintely quiz them on that... I've had a few 19's that the crank seized into the top bushing. Did the engine turn over ??? only way crank could keeop it from running would be seized up or cam gear broke and cam out of timing or not turning (had one of those) Let us know what they tell you.
