I know this doesnt relate to pictures or videos, but I figured more people would know prez from this section than the others. Saturday, Prez was tailgating at Clemson prior to the Clemson/FSU game and his big cooker, which some have seen in pictures he's posted, blew up on him. He made a mistake when the flame went out, he didnt lift the main hood before he tried re-lighting the burners. The cooker had been on, but he noticed the smokers werent putting out any smoke, and he didnt think it had been out for long, and went to re-light the burners without letting the excess gas exit from the top, and when he sparked it, you can imagine what happened. It knocked him back giving him 2nd degree burns on both arms, as well as his face; with his face and right arm (the one that was in the cooker) taking the majority. They rushed him to the local hospital where a couple of hours later determined he needed to be at augusta burn center. Unfortunately, I was in brevard, nc camping at the time, but luckily just happened to be off the mtn. and in town when I got the phone call from my mom. I rushed down the mtn., and met them at the hospital where I was then able to ride with my dad to augusta in the ambulance. Being the huge clemson fan he was, he kept asking what the score was all the way down there. As we arrived at the augusta burn center, the game was just getting underway in the 3rd quarter, so even though he wasnt at the game like he wanted to be, me and him got to watch the tigers beat the seminoles from the hospital room. He was supposed to have surgery yesterday, but 2 children came in that were burned more severely then him, so they got pushed ahead and prez's surgery was done today. He came out of surgery good and the doctor said in a couple of weeks everything should be healed up and looking good for the most part. Its a terrible event, but it could have been much worse. He had his clemson oakleys on, which protected his eyes, and also didnt inhale as it flamed up on him, keeping his lungs in good shape. Depending on the amount of pain he feels tomorrow, he could possibly be going home, unless the pain is still severe and then it may be wed. or so. Just thought I would fill you guys in on whats been happening the past few days. Its a tough situation to see my dad like that, and if I could, I would make it me instead of him. Please pray that he heals quickly and everything goes as it should. Thanks everyone
Vicenut

Man that sucks. I hope he's doing O.K. They say that the first week for burn victims is the most crucial for stabilizing them and treatment. Ultimately he was taken care of right away so thank god (or whoever) for that.
Sounds like he is going to come out O.K., and I'll keep him in my thoughts and I'm sure we all wish him luck.
D-lawns, if you talk to him, give him a shout for me and wish him well.

Wow, this is one that hits really close to home! When I was 3... long time ago my dad was lighting charcol on a outside bricked cooker outside our home and similiar situation followed. Only thing was the fumes ignited and I was in the line of where the fumes were. I had 1st- 3rd degree burns along the right side of my body. Mostly on my arm and shoulder area. My dad was lucky enough to just get a minor burn on one arm, he told them to wrap it because he was leaving with me as they rushed me to Indianapolis to the children's hospital there.
It was 2 or 3 years before they finally released me from having follow ups on the skin graphed areas. Actually spent 35 days in the hospital when it happened. Defiently keep us up to date on your progress, glad to see that your on here, actually had a feeling that it wouldn't take you long to send us something! Probably have a lot of free time now to put up some new pics and such. Don't think the doc put that restriction on you!
I'll keep you in my daily thoughts and prayers, and think of this verse. It is always so true when something along the lines of an accident or loss comes along the way. Take care and can't wait to hear that you are out at it again!
Romans 8:28
And we know that in ALL things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

You don't look too bad. Just think when you heal up better and have scars you can tell the pretty girls at the bars about how you wrecked your race car. Or botched the landing with your F-18 during a hurricane. Or...
Get better soon brother.

Haven't had a pain pill in 2 days so I guess not. I will take a couple before they start undressing the arms tomorrow. Just real tender.
