At the sake of sounding stupid.... I constantly hear of Gator Blades. We run 2 Scag Turf Tigers and I am not sure what a Gator Blade is. Would someone please explain to me what a "Gator Blade" is. One Scag came with straight type blades and the other came with blades that are raised in the back with a circular notch in them.
Thanks for your help as always

"Gator" is a particular brand name of "mulching" blades. Check out the picture labeled "Mulching Blade" to see what they look like:

If you look at #7, it is a Genuine regular GATOR blade.
#6 is a Gator "TYPE" blade from another manufacturer. Its fins go the other way.
If you really want a good cut, you want to find a #1 blade that is fully sharpened like this, or make it that way when you sharpen it.
SCAGS ususally come with #'s 4 or 5.
Good Luck
