With my equipment, a 1 acre lot moderitly covered with leaves takes about 1-2 hours, $50.00 per hour.

I think u seen this one on the net but if I was you I would make sure that you go by and see it first before submitting anything for all you know it could be a forclosed home that was just purchased and hasn't had a cleanup in a few years. People like that I stay away from cause there is a very good chance that they are gonna try to stiff you and are only lookin for the cheapest way out

800+ seems pretty high to me depending on how many leaves are there and what equitment you are gonna use but honestly u need a walk behind blower for a yard that big cause you will be there forever with a backpack cause they will never push the leaves.. I would have to say more like around 600 but I would have 3 guys there and it would probably only take me a few hrs depending on the wind direction if any.

Yeah thats what i sent in the estimate. I would have a better idea once i saw the property. I also put a rough estimate would be 800.

You will get burnt giving estimates with out looking at the properties first.

Yep. It could be a 2 hour leaf job, or a 2 day brush clean-up. I'd say $800 is probably over bidding, but you probably don't want to deal with these people anyway. Good move.

Not enough info to even guess at a price.

I have a car I want to buy. It's midsize, about 50,000 miles. I haven't seen it. How much should I bid on it?
And if it's not too much trouble, please tell me how you run your business so I can better compete with you. Thanks.

Its very easy to compete with your competition. You need to watch them, see the type of service they provide, the attitude they display, see where you can improve on the job they do. Its a known fact that every customer wants AA+ service for E- price. When you interview for a contract you need to understand what that person wants for service and adjust your contract to cover the srevice they want. DO NOT contract to do a crappy job for a cheap price. You then find the "nitch" customers that like your service and the price you offer for that service. It takes time to build a good repetition so you have to show a lot of tolernce to customers wishes. You can't give away services but most customers will ask for a little something extra every now and then. The customers that are always asking for " extras " , you don't want. You should have forseen the need for the exras before you signed the contract. There is very little profit in mowing grass. The equipment is too costly to start with and costly to maintain. Mowing grass is a way to get your foot in the door for other services.

How can we give you help on the car if we don't know what color it is, all depends on the color.

If you could blow them all into ditch and not load it should take about 2 hours max. Without seeing I would charge $150. Use are walk behind blower and blow them into ditch and never touch a rake.

If you turn bids in without looking at property always state that it is a proposal. If they like the proposal you then state you must see property to give them a contract. I agree with all other posts about getting burned, etc. Your never locked into doing it unless both of you sign the contract.
