Exmark Z with a Kohler keeps blowing a fuse under the seat by the battery and is not charging the battery. Battery is brand new. When fuse is replaced and engine running it makes good volts but in only a few minutes fuse blows. All connections are clean.
Any ideas?

I remember there was a post about this a long time ago but I can't remember how to fix it. Post this over in the Exmark Forum for a quick and correct answer.
Unplug the regulator bolted to the side of the engine. See if your fuse blowing problem goes away. Could be a bad regulator or a shorted stator winding if the fuse no longers blows.

This is why I run Scags.
I found the problem. The clutch wires had shorted in the loom. Whenever the clutch was turned on the fuse would blow and the mower would stop charging. Make sense???
New wire in the loom handled the problem.
