I'm confused about the performance numbers on your backpack blowers. Take for example the EB8520: max air volume is 813 cfm and max velocity is 229 mph. However, you have two diameter tube nozzles. Is the max air volume with the large diameter nozzle and is the max air velocity with the small diameter nozzle? If so, what then is the air velocity with the large diameter nozzle and the air volume with the small diameter nozzle? Both of those numbers aren't published.

Thanks.

What they are publishing are the MAX numbers.....

"Is the max air volume with the large diameter nozzle and is the max air velocity with the small diameter nozzle?" > To this I would say yes.

"If so, what then is the air velocity with the large diameter nozzle and the air volume with the small diameter nozzle?"
Both of these figures will be less than the MAX published. Larger nozzle= less velocity(airspeed). Small nozzle=less volume(more restriction)

You can get 150mph through a straw but you don't want to try to push a big pile of leaves with it. Buy on volume.

LOL...I understand all of that.

I'm looking for an exact number or to see if Shindaiwa even knows those numbers.

I don't know if any of the blower manufacturers have those figures readily available... You call the factory in Oregon and speak to the Technical advice department. Besides, I was wondering, why would you want those figures anyway? To what use are they? You already have the Max numbers.

WHO CARES? I just bought the 802 its unbelievable. No need for a ground blower, this blower is so strong and powerfull that it does that a ground blower can do but better.
IMO

Its a lot more quiet than my smaller redmax 7001 but much more powerfull.
AND BEST OF ALL,, its lighter

GREAT JOB SHINDAIWA!!!!

Hey CutApproved, Did you ever own a Shindaiwa blower before? If so, which one? Any other Shinny equipment?

ECHO has the blower numbers in their 2010 catalog. You can see it on their website. Check out page 4 of the attached link. The Shindaiwa blowers are very powerful. The EB8520 is the most powerful Shindaiwa blower and it is real fuel efficient being a 4 cycle machine. The new ECHO PB-770 beats it, but just barely. It is a virtual tie. You would never notice a difference of just 5 cfm when strapped on your back.
