View Full Version : fruit tree spraying

When is the most desirable time to spray fruit trees? I have been told to do it prior to blossom and also told to wait until immediately after blossom drops. Also told to wait until the fruit sets, but that seems too late. Is the time frame really that critical and what is the "liquid of choice" for general spraying? Thanks

Go to your county co-op extension service. They will give you all the info you will need. I'm telling you this because, depending on species of tree, you will expect to spray from 11 - 20 times a season and the timing is very critical for success. The chemicals vary from dormant oil, insecticides, and fungicides, or a combination, depending on the stage of fruit development.
