I wish I didn't have to spend $79 for a hitch but at least it's well built from thick steel. Interesting CYA note on there says don't pull more than 80 lbs or you risk ruining the hydro motors. Not that I'd be making a habit of pulling heavy loads, but I think 80 lbs is a little on the unrealistic side. I guess the warning is for commercial users - so eXmark doesn't have a lot of warranty claims from people who think they can regularly use their zero turn mower to lug around big loads of damp mulch, dirt, etc. Me personally...I just needed the hitch so I can drag my garbage down the hill to the road....and occasional use for light loads of dirt and so on...cleaning out old plants from the flower beds, etc. Anyway, here's the $79 eXmark hitch if you don't have one and wonder what it looks like. Again, eXmark made a nice, simple heavy duty piece. I guess it's worth $79.

Can I ask how much your jack ran you?

Sure, I think it was about $150 for the part that bolts to the frame plus the jack itself. It was the kit from eXmark.

Thanks. I have one on order for my Hustler. I am anxious to see it. It looks to not be as solid/heavy duty as yours (as my machine is quite a bit smaller), and it was $204...

It's a very handy thing to have....so in the long run, for home use it's probably worth it.

Good to hear. I think it will be worth it in the long run too. No one forced me to pay that much for it...

It just doesn't seem like a $200 part, and I was curious what other manufacturers were charging...

We pay for the parts we want...

80 pounds MAX?

Too funny.

Yeah that's what it is, CYA but it is a bit deep.

I've pulled another mower out of the ditch with my rider before, that weighed 300.
And with the 300 pound mower I've pulled a car out of a ditch LOL.

Sure, don't do this on a regular basis and don't bring it in for warranty after it's broken from doing that

Thanks for the laugh.

that's 80 lbs of PULL resistance ...not teh weight of the load.

one can have a large load but it must be wheeled and dragged.

My little Country Clipper Jazee 1 came with a hitch as part of the body. They told me they don't advise pulling anything over 200lb with it, because the transmissions can't handle it. I really want a little trailer just to haul tools and light loads around the yard. I had hoped to haul my Hobie cat in and out of the garage, but that is nixed.

So basically, if I were to DRAG something...I could probably only get away with maybe 1 Michael Jackson? LOL
