My new Ford tailgate hits my trailer jack. Can't open the tailgate all the way. I would like to install a swivel jack. Anybody do this before? It wouldn't be in the center and the angle iron is only 3 inches wide.

Just get a hitch that extends out a little further.

I will remove the jack completely next season if I have to. I found a couple A frame jacks that are an inch and a half shorter so that may be a solution.

If you have a v nose weld a bracket closer to the trailer to mount the jack too.

i have a swivel jack on mine. So much nicer to just swing down, a few turns, and the trailer is lifted off.

if its a small trailer the swivel is the way to go

we have replaced the stock, bolt on, center mounted jack with a swivel jack that is mounted on the outer angle iron and it works just fine.

You're not using your truck's rear bumper to tow, are you?

Just get a hitch that extends out a little further.

Yeah, just get a longer hitch.
