Tried out a TL 150 today and now have some questions. The controlls were all hand, but the bucket was on one stick, and the other stick controlled the forward/backward movement. I like the case pattern alot better, so im trying to figure out what the TL150 had so I avoid purchasing a machine with pattern. I must say the TL150 is huge, and the cab is great. I almost think I would rather have one of them over anything else.

Er, to be blunt... was there a question?

Just tell the dealer to change it to case pattern, the Gehl's (same thing) were always sold with the Case Pattern
You can also give the TK pattern a try, once your used to it it is great, Make the sale contigent on them changing it if you can not get the hang of it.

Oooooh! I understand. The Takeuchi has "ISO" or "Cat-style" controls.
I misread your post, wanabe. Sorry!

Cat control is so much easier, you will never go back.

No prob! I never realized before today that there was a controll pattern like this. Never been in a Cat or Takeuchi before today.

It is really great for backing up because you can shift your body further around since you only have one stick to move.

Is a Gehl the same as a Tak?

Takeuchi, Mustang, and Gehl CTLs are all the same.
I think Takeuchi makes the CTLs for Mustang and Gehl. Correct if I'm wrong.

Gehl and Mustang have different cabs, A/C and heaters. Takki also offers a better warranty, but other than the same

The cab on the Gehl CTL looks the same in the pic to me? Or am I missing something? The Gehl CTL's can be had for cheep right now. Even some new ones floating arround ebay for very little. Would I regret buying one?

If you are buying it cheap and don't expect the ride to be a magic carpet ride I honestly don't see how you could lose.

The Gehl/Mustang cabs are a little shorter and have the swing out door instead of the excavator style door. And someone said above that the AC/heat is different, otherwise same great machine. When I was pricing them the Gehl's were more, but now I think they are in some financial trouble so they need to unload some machines.

Swing out doors are my second choice of door styles. Roll up doors should be mandatory on all skids (egress during a fire is a prime example). Gehl skids with enclosed cab do not have a very efficient or effective air conditioning system........yes, it cools the air down kindof, but needs improvement. Depending on your needs, it is a good utilitarian type machine. I own a 5640T with all the bells, whistles and put a VTS track system on it. Would I purchase another one? Yes, depending on the application and work I chose to do with it. Now is a good time to purchase any type of machine, but not a time to rush out and spend retail. The market is flooded with low hour or near new machines at bargain basement/repo prices. Cash (hate this saying, but it is true right now) is king and at a premium and will talk real loud. As an example, used big trucks just dropped across the board another 10k and that is in less than a years period of time.
