I was on RB auction today and noticed this

www.rbauction.com/equipment_search/equipment_results.jsp?auction_id=2009289&industry_id=13&class_cd=ROT&vc_make=MACK&Search_type=Other

There is 32 brand new Mack never used tandem axle hooklifts. Some company must have ordered them and never took them. They are not the best spec'ed trucks. Put a full load on them and they would be awfully gutless.

The bad parts one they are automatic, two the MP7 isn't enough power, three the have not so great suspension it should be camel back, four the rear axles are too light no good for offroad.

They may end up going cheap the way the economy is you may get the truck for 80 grand

If they had MP8 power 460hp Mack 18spd 46,000lb rear axles on camel back.

Anyhow if your interested in a light rolloff the Macks would be a good choice. Like I said you will get them cheap.

All auctions seem to be flooded with new unused equipment check out ironplanet they are loaded with unused gehl CTL's and new compactors and generators from ingersoll and rand and a bunch of stuff from woods attachments. There is even close to 100 cat excavators (used) I think a lot of repos its that time of the year where things drop off and the bad bidding and companies in over their heads and way out on their lines of credit, if you got cash In the next 3 months is going to be the time to buy.

If 395 is not enough hp to get a tandem down the road then what is? We had macks for years and had alot of R's that were 300 hp 5 speed trucks, pulling 72,000 lbs. And never one time did we give up because we were short hp to pull the load.

The newer Mack engines are not like the old. The days are gone when Macks had low end power the new engines have no b*lls at all in the low end.

Anybody with a new Mack said don't ever let the rpms drop they don't have any pulling power.
