How late can Venhoutte Spirea (bridalwreath) be transplanted in Southern Wisconsin? Is Dec. too late to put them in if we find the stock and the ground is not frozen yet?

Everyone always says that you can transplant right up to the point the ground freezes. But be abolutely sure that there are no air pockets, and the roots are soaked in well, because "winter burn" is dehydration of certain areas of the plant.

What he said x2. Looking at the weather forecast, its looking like highs during the daytime will not get above freezing toward the end of this week, which is the point when the ground starts freezing. If you are going to transplant, do it NOW and water well. Remove your guarantee if you have one, I would never guarantee a December plant in the upper Midwest.
