View Full Version : 100k postcard distribution

Met with a guy tonight who distributes postcards. They do 4 at a time and no two businesses are the same.
The rate is 6 cents each but if you do 100k you get it at 4.5 cents. Put simply, they'll distribute 100k for the price of 80k. No concerns with things being thrown in the trash etc, reputable folks.
50k = $3,000
100k = $4,500
5x7 postcards, full color on both sides are about $500 per 10,000 printed.
50k printed & distributed = $5,500
100k printed & distributed = $9,500
I plan to hit houses 5 times.
How do your rates compare?

dont you think that if you going to send it to house 5 times the people are going to get fed up and not want to call you idk its a good idea but i feel people would get annoyed from getting 5 post cards.

Nope, repetition. I've read and been told of people doing as many as 8 but I think that is overkill. I have the option of hitting more houses, but less repetition.

Use gotprint it is only $356 per 10,000.
How do you know that the company will pass out all flyer?
Delivery price is good.

Just my opinion, but if the postcard is going out at the same time as a buch of other postcards (like a package of postcards sent to these homeowners), I dont think your ROI is going to be very good.
My experience has been best with very targeted marketing. Keyword here is "targeted". I send out postcards myself that I design and get printed through an online company, but I only send them to areas, and houses, that have a lawn I want to cut. And all these are near lawns I already have. So I end up getting a lot of lawns really close to lawns I already have. Works for me. But you might be offereing other services where you might not care where the home is located.
For $5500 I could get around 15k postcards printed and mailed out with 1st class postage to homes in areas I want to work in. It's still "junk mail" but not "mass junk mail". I've done the "mass junk mail before" and I would have been better off putting all the money that cost me on one spin on double zero in vegas. I get really good results the other way.
