Advice on mowing new lawn

I have a potential new customer who has a new hydroseeded lawn. The top soil is **** (lot of stones and silt/clay) so the growth is sparse but tall (about 6 inches). I had to be careful not to scuff it just walking on it and can't imagine what my 48 inch Exmark WB would do to it.

My question is, when should new lawns like this be mowed, and do I have any other choice but to mow it with my trim mower to avoid ripping it up? He wants a price for the rest of the mowing season, but I'll need to charge more to mow with a smaller mower until (if) the lawn gets established.

I would give him a price based on mowing it with a trim mower and then when you can mow it with a larger machine, go for it better profits $ less time. Good luck

use standard blades very sharp,and mabe cut the rpm. that soil can be
damaged by mowing with a lot of suction.this is one area i would not use doubles for a while.
id use the 48 carefully tho as the less traffic the better.also if by any chance starter fert was not used ,that could help u some.jmho
