If I was burnt out and started a new business, what would it be?

Hmmm, I have really been thinking alot about this recently. It's getting harder and harder to be profitable in this business and there is no such thing as loyalty anymore. Everyone is just looking for the cheapest price.

My vote is for a small cleanout / rubbish removal business. Using 15yd and smaller containers. We could drop a container and/or provide the cleanout service.

Looking for everyones suggestions.

Real estate people got rich years ago, not now. The TOP, ESTABLISHED realtors in every area may still be making money but not many else are. Thats why so many people get into that field that cant or dont do college. Now real estate appraisal on the other hand...
You know how many donuts you have to sell to cover your arse? Waaaaaaaaaay too many for me. Any dunkin donuts are going under, several other franchises have chased them out of here and they were in PRIME location as well. People complain about not clearing a ton on mowing lawns and such, imagine your percentage on a dam donut.

Excellent idea! I started out mowing & landscaping & eventually started "hauling" away debris. I enjoy my work and find it very rewarding even though I'm mostly hauling trash!

Also consider the "treasures" you will find. I make big bucks off of the scrape metal people pay me to haul off. I resell many items like appliances, furniture etc, on Craigslist.

A few weeks ago, I did a clean out of a home & discovered a bag full of SILVER coins, sold them to a coin collector for $180. Back in the summer, I cleaned out a garage and found (2) 1881 Liberty twenty dollar GOLD coins & more silver coins! Sold the coins for about $500.

I don't use dumpsters but a truck & several different sized trailers & I look through the debris while emptying out the trailer.

I think you might do well in a clean out service provided your prices are reasonable and you are reliable.
