I'm thinking of purchasing a used Skidsteer and was wundering around how many Hrs do they start needing repairs ? :blob3:
David, if you start getting about 2500-3000 hrs you're getting up there in hours. I'd pass on them, if you're useing them for business.

My dealer said he once had a 2 year old model Bobcat with 25,000 hours. It was used three shifts daily. When the guy traded it in the hour meter showed 5000 hours. The owner said " You know those aren't the right hours". My dealer asked what do you mean? The owner replied, that the hour meter only goes to 10,000 hours and it was on its third time around!

I expected someone would know the number of hours in a year! Maybe they worked 8 days a week? Maybe it is like a fishing story - the number of hours goes up each time he tells it.

My experience has been that a skid steer starts to need major repairs at around 3000 to 4000 hours. It seems to also be at this time that the machine starts to feel "loose" (bushings on the arms and such).
