gets your facts straight, 6.0s dont suck.. They have had minor mechanical problems, its the people that have had bad luck with the ford dealerships not fixing the motors or warrantying them that gave the 6.0 a bad name. Over all, it is a good motor, just had issues like most.

Ok, sorry for the rant. Nice truck, very close to what I'd like! To bad I cant afford it. So here is a free bump..

yeah, i remember when the 7.3 was put in the couple of years before the super duty series. and they carried it for a while but then switched to smaller blocks. i thought they looked good then and to find they still shine for high torque and long life. i loved one and really should get one before they get too old t find one that still has that just getting broke in feeling. this is a great truck man.

we are part of the way done on purchasing and modifying/lettering to suit our specific needs .

it is a F350 dual wheels 12ft extra wide flatbed stake-body. we had some lettering and a few small paint touch ups done already. we are going to linex the bed and add a hoist more capable than the gvw i know that. we are going to build a new body for it and add more supports on the side more than likely to reinforce the side walls which will be 2x6 construction. after that she should be documented in pics and we will show you all. it was a great buy.

alright, i will stop highjacking your thread . hope you get what you want out of it.

If you include turbo's grenade-ing, timing chains shredding, EGR's constantly plugging, head gaskets frequently blowing, injectors leaking more than a siv, oil coolers blowing, the constant oil leaks, and the other host of problems as "normal", than yes, it just had "issues" like most.

OP, nice truck. I wouldn't take less than 15k, seeing as it's a 450 w/ a 7.3 that has less than 60k miles, as well as a functioning dump bed.

While it may be worth more than $12k, whatever you're getting for a book value is probably very inaccurate with the current truck market and economy. If I could get book value out of all my trucks I would sell all but my pickup, take the extra money and pay cash for yours, haha. A year ago when I bought my 96 f350 dump, for WAYYYY too much money, we took a loan out against my 96 F250 diesel that was paid off before, since the cab and chassis 350 I was buying wouldnt show up to value on NADA at the bank.
Anyhow, 96 F250 4x4 5 speed, fair condition, 225k at that time, the book value was still in the $7's as far as the bank was concerned. Now, realistically that truck is worth maybe $4-5k now. I have other examples too, just to throw it out there though. I would think 12-15 would be fair for your truck, and I have looked at quite a few, very nice truck though, good in selling it.

Guys get off this thread unless you are buying stop saying what it is worth it is worth what ever some one buys it for.
If it was not a stick I would have bought it but instead i bought a 97 7.3 with a plow for 10k in great shape with a new tranny I think he is in the ball park
Good luck and free bump

I agree, I had the same problem at 40,000 miles, about 7,000 worth of repairs, all I had to pay was the deductable but the truck was still down for a while.

I dont know what people are talkin about. That truck is worth all of 15000.00 all day long. I have seen people pay 10000 for 87 chevys that are whipped. Thats a nice truck. To bad its a stick or it would be at my shop by the weekend for 17,000!

No I can but just a pain in the ass when plowing, automatics rule in that department. Especially because I do 100 accts.
